Our History:
Love People Project is a non-profit charitable organization that originally started in 1998, it was called Love LA Project. The
mission was to help the homeless and people of the Los Angeles community, with gifts of food, service work through cleaning-
up graffiti around property, and giving away clothing. Love LA Project stopped providing charitable work shortly after it stared
because it was not protected by the State of California laws for  Non-profit Corporation. The vision never died it just evolved
over time. Love People Project incorporated in 2012 as a not-for-profit organization, this means we are 100% non-profit, all
donations go directly to help our cause. Currently their are only volunteers and the founder of the organization whom all
donate their time and efforts into growing and supporting this cause. There are no paid staff,  and is still in the process of
growing and becoming tax exempt status. The original vision has changed to a more successful approach in providing a person
with the basic items to survive given in our "Life Packs".

Modern Love People Project:
Once a month we go to downtown Los Angeles or into LA County to distribute "Life Packs". A life pack is a large canvas
backpacking backpack that is filled with a 0 degree mummy sleeping bag, a two person tent, an emergency kit, a hygiene kit,
gloves, beanie, reusable water bottle, towel, lamp, Bible, and some food.
The process for giving consists of 6 parts: Collecting, Purchasing, Preparing, Delivering, Teaching, and Mentoring.
1. Collection consists of picking-up used backpacking items, clothes, and food, in addition to taking an inventory of new
donated items. Collecting also involves pulling funds from fundraising donations, event donations, and tickets purchased.
2. The second step is taking the money and purchasing directly from manufacturers giving us discounts, stores that sell us
returned discounted items, sale items, or sometimes new items (this we try to avoid).
3. The Third step is preparing the “Life Packs”; volunteers join us at our storage facility and help us account for each item
being packed. We also label every item for secure reason.
4.5.6. The fourth, fifth, and sixth steps are the fun part; Delivering the packs to the homeless. In this process those
volunteering take the packs to Los Angeles or surrounding communities and we meet with the homeless, we introduce
ourselves, share with them what we do, offer them a pack, teach them how to use each item, repack their packs, and take a
photo or video with them along with getting their story.  Before we leave we care and show our love in ways each volunteer
feels comfortable… either through encouraging words, prayer, or helping them another way.

Our Mission Statement is summed-up in these two Scripture verses:
Isaiah 58:6-7
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the
oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to
share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with
shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe him, and
not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?"

Matthew 7:12
"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

Our Belief:
Love People Project is a Christian faith organization that believes all people are chosen to be cared for.  Every human being is
our brother and or sister, our "own flesh and blood"! By taking the time to love on others we can tackle the nucleus of
homelessness...restoring hope by restoring self respect.
